Sins of Omission

Abstract

Many Australians over thirty are likely to remember a horrific incident in 1977 when a demented pilot deliberately crashed a plane into an occupied building at Alice Springs airport, causing several deaths. While the more recent Port Arthur massacre has spawned numerous studies and much debate about interpretation of the unbearable, commemoration of the Alice Springs air terminal suicide-murder has attracted little or no commentary.
